Neighborhood House of North Richmond provides many multi-faceted, essential, community-based programs within its two locations in the city of Richmond, ranging from public policy advocacy to a residential substance abuse treatment facility.

First Five "Hand-to-Hand"


This project provides intensive case management to low-income and high-risk families in Richmond and North Richmond with children ages 0-5.

West County Transportation Center


The Transportation Center offers “one-stop shopping” for community residents. The Center provides transportation information and related services in English, Spanish, Cambodian, Laotian and Thai.

West County Mentoring Project


This mentoring project provides field trips and one-on-one mentoring for 25 high-risk male and female youth who are students in West County Schools.

Multicultural Senior and Family Center

Low-income families and seniors are provided with a hot lunch five days a week, grocery giveaways, arts and crafts, nutrition education, exercise classes and other social services.

The Center is also home to the Day Center which provides services for adults living with HIV/AIDS. In addition, our Career Resource program, with job readiness and placement assistance, is available at the Center, by appointment only, Tuesday through Thursday.

Richmond Community Wellness Collaborative


We are partnering with the City of Richmond Office of Neighborhood Safety and the City of Richmond Employment and Training Department to provide a range of wrap-around services to steer high-risk youth away from gangs, violence and criminal behavior. One of the key strategies of the collaborative is the Street Peace Ambassadors Program, which utilizes young adults, male and female, from the local communities to troubleshoot and provide
conflict mediation services at the grassroots level.

HIV/AIDS Community Outreach and Prevention


To prevent the spread of AIDS, our grassroots outreach, education, counseling and testing services broaden understanding throughout the West County community.  We offer educational presentations in addition to one-on-one counseling.

Residential Substance Abuse Treatment


We offer residential substance abuse treatment, including a 7-day detox and a 90-day recovery program for men and women. These services are provided by the Alcohol and Other Drug Services Division of Contra Costa County Health Services and Centerpoint, Inc. through a contract with this agency.

Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment


This program includes a range of outpatient services, including English- and Spanish-speaking DUI classes as well as general assistance drug diversion classes. We also provide urine sample collection for substance abuse testing for various Contra Costa County programs, including Child Protection Services and Probation.

Differential Response


Neighborhood House is the lead agency in collaboration to provide case management to families who have been referred to Children and Family Services. The goal is to assist families with referrals and resources to prevent their further involvement with Children and Family Services.
